What is an AOII Day?

AOII Day is a great way to create fun and sisterhood for all alumnae and collegians within a geographical area! The mission of an AOII Day is to bring sisters from different chapters together to join in sharing ideas and experiencing firsthand that AOII is more than the women in your chapter. Events often include educational sessions, guest speakers, service projects, Rituals, meals and Emporium shopping. Every geographical area gets to determine the purpose and activities for their AOII Day, so you can make your AOII Day whatever you want it to be!

When should your chapter host an AOII Day?

There is no time better than the present!

Your area’s event can be as big as a weekend long series of events or as modest as a small luncheon and speaker. The most important thing is that alumnae and collegiate sisters come together to have fun.

You can also combine your AOII Day with your area’s Founders’ Day celebration or other events that you already have planned to maximize your time together with other sisters.

Where should your chapter host an AOII Day?

Select a location that is central to as many chapters as possible. Make the AOII Day an annual event and let each chapter rotate hosting it in their city. Also, do not forget about chapters that are in not in your state, but still in close proximity to the event location.

Why should you participate in an AOII Day event?

First of all, it is the perfect way to spend time with sisters from other chapters and have fun! ΑΟII Days also help support the principles of ΑΟII and reflect credit upon our Fraternity. AOII Days are the perfect way to come together to share ideas, receive training and experience the bigger picture of AOII through life-long involvement outside of your initiated chapter.

Collegiate chapters can also benefit from increasing involvement with alumnae chapters by forming relationships that can assist with alumnae support on the AAC/Corporation Board, with recruitment and during important activities.

For alumnae chapters, AOII Days make a terrific recruitment tool. Not only is contact made with other alumnae who are not currently involved with an alumnae chapter, but these events also enable long-term recruiting as relationships form with collegiate members, who will begin to see the benefits of joining an alumnae chapter.

How do you plan an AOII Day?

It is very simple, and the tasks are already laid out for you. The AOII Day Event Planning Guide is designed to help you plan an ΑOII Day. It contains a step-by-step guide that lists aspects that you need to consider when planning your ΑOII Day. This booklet also includes an appendix with resources to make it easier for you to plan a great event.

Holding an AOII Day?

If so, be certain to let AOII Headquarters know. Recognition is given to those alumnae and collegiate chapters that host an event for their area!
