No board member, officer, or employee who in good faith reports an ethics violation shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or adverse employment consequences. An employee who retaliates against someone who has reported a violation in good faith is subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment. A board member who retaliates against someone who has reported a violation in good faith is subject to discipline as set forth in the AOII Fraternity Bylaws. This Whistleblower Policy is intended to encourage and enable employees and others to raise serious concerns within the Fraternity prior to seeking resolution outside the Fraternity.
The AOII Fraternity has an open door policy and encourages employees, board members, and volunteers to share their questions, concerns, suggestions, or complaints with someone who can address them properly. In most cases, the Executive Director is in the best position to address an area of concern. If you are not comfortable speaking with the Executive Director or you are not satisfied with the Executive Director’s response, you are encouraged to speak with the International President. The Executive Director is required to report suspected ethics violations to the International President, who has specific and exclusive responsibility to investigate all reported violations. If you prefer to report your concerns anonymously, you may do so by leaving a voicemail on the AOII whistleblower hotline. The hotline’s toll-free number is
1-855-230-1183. Hotline voicemails will be retrieved on a regular basis and forwarded to an appropriate individual for response.

Anyone filing allegations that prove not to be substantiated and/or which prove to have been made maliciously or knowingly to be false will be subject to disciplinary action.
Violations or suspected violations may be submitted on a confidential basis by the complainant or may be submitted anonymously.
