Travel

Travel costs to and from Indianapolis are covered by your chapter or – in some cases – are a personal expense. For attendees with travel covered by the chapter, please coordinate with your chapter’s Director of Finance (or VPMI) regarding booking or reimbursement.

For Attendees Flying to Camp AOII
Arrivals:

  • Camp AOII programming begins at 4:00 pm in Bloomington on Thursday (Session 1: June 27 or Session 2: July 11). Attendees who are arriving by flight should plan for your flight to arrive at Indianapolis International Airport (IND) on Thursday (June 27 or July 11) by 1:30 pm at the latest.  
  • Shuttles will be provided from the Indianapolis Airport to Camp AOII in Bloomington between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. A more detailed shuttle schedule will be provided to registered attendees at a later date.
  • If your flight path makes arriving between late morning and early afternoon difficult, consider the following options:  
    • Check for a red eye – this means departing your home location in the evening and arriving at IND first thing in the morning on Thursday.  
    • Arrive late and miss intro programming pieces – this means finding your own transportation from IND to Bloomington at your own expense.  
    • Arrive a night early and stay at a hotel – this means an additional expense to stay in a hotel at the IND airport (check out some options here). 
    • If you find yourself with some extra time at the IND airport, check out Tinker Coffee, Shapiro’s Deli, or Harry & Izzy’s.   

Departures:

  • Attendees can schedule departures at any time on Sunday (Session 1: June 30 or Session 2: July 14), however morning or early afternoon is preferred, as we will ask all facilitators/attendees to depart the chapter house by 11:00 am. There will be an airport shuttle provided.

For Attendees driving to Camp AOII
Parking is available on-site at the Beta Phi chapter house for attendees who plan to travel via car. Programming begins at 4:00 pm on Thursday (Session 1: June 27 or Session 2: July 11), so drivers should plan to arrive between 1:00 and 4:00 pm. During the Camp AOII programming, all Campers and facilitators are asked to fully participate in the experience and should remain on-site until check-out on Sunday.
