Recommend and Connect with Potential New Members, Promote the Sorority Experience

Even though we don’t exactly know what to expect from the Fall 2020 semester, fall recruitment is quickly approaching and our chapters need the help of our alumnae more than ever before!

Do you know a young woman who is entering her freshman year of college? Or a collegiate woman who has not joined Greek Life in the past but may be interested in finding a community? The most important impact an alumna can have to support our collegiate chapters is to recommend and connect with women you know and tell them about sorority life and AOII.

It is important to know that many of our campuses will be hosting virtual or hybrid formal recruitments this fall but this does not mean young women should wait until the spring or next year to join. She can have Sisterhood in AOII NOW with fellow young women to support her through these difficult times.

Write a MIF/Recommendation Letter

If you are interested in taking part, we encourage you to send a message to young women you know to ask them if they would like to learn more about the sorority experience and AOII. If they are interested or if you know any women who would make great AOIIs, please take time to complete a Membership Information Form/Recommendation Letter for them. While MIFs and recommendation letters are not required by our chapters for eligibility of membership, they are a great way for our chapters to get to know PNMs prior to recruitment and make it the best experience possible.

Alumnae Recruitment Communication Toolkit

Another great way to spread the word about the sorority experience is to share a Facebook Post (example linked) to encourage other AOIIs to connect with young women and share what AOII means to them.

Want to promote AOII but don’t exactly know how or where to start? Follow the link below to access the Recruitment Communication Toolkit for alumnae! Included are social media graphics, letters from AOII’s International President, Zoom backgrounds and more! We encourage you to change your Facebook/Twitter cover photo and add the AOII “Go Greek!” Facebook frame to your profile photo to publicly share our sisterhood and your support for the Sorority experience.

Promote Sisterhood Now

From late nights preparing for recruitment, to early mornings getting ready for philanthropy events, there’s something each alumna can share that expresses our unique sisterhood. AOII has created six Sisterhood Now videos for our members to reflect on their own experiences and share with their friends and families to convey just how special our sisterhood is. We encourage you to share these videos through social media as well as directly with potential new members and their families.

Important Changes from NPC

You may be wondering, is all of this allowed? The answer is yes! NPC has recently made some significant changes to recruitment policies which make offering and receiving bids an easier process for campuses, chapters, and potential new members. Click the link below to learn about these changes so that you can advocate alongside NPC and AOII.
