As the Executive Board, one of our priorities is to invite all of our members on the journey with us as we navigate this biennium.  One way we do that is through our At The Table series that showcases each of our ends and how we focus our work around them.  The other way is to provide a recap of our in-person meetings.

We recently met at Headquarters for our XB meeting on April 10, 2026, and were joined by our Foundation and Properties Boards and staff the following day on April 11 for what we are referring to as an Enterprise Leadership Meeting (formerly known as Tri Board).  This name change acknowledges that the leadership of our organization is a partnership between the volunteer and staff leadership of all three entities — the Fraternity, the Foundation and AOII Properties.

Have you ever wondered what we really do when we come together?  Well, let me share some of that with you!

Our XB meeting really focused on six categories:

  • Fraternity Update/Overview – Our Executive Director, Kaya Miller, provided us with an environmental scan of our chapters (recruitment statistics, housing/facility information, etc.), operational updates, special project updates.
  • Governance Work – Our Governance Committee Chair, Carey Unger, lead a discussion on updates needed to some of our policies in the policy set. Kaya provided us with reports on her interpretation and execution of duties outlined in the policy set.
  • Executive Board Committee Work – Each committee (Properties, Governance, Finance and Audit, and Membership Connection and Board Development) reported out on current projects and updates.
  • Executive Board Special Projects – We debriefed our most recent At The Table event and started planning our next one.
  • Leading the Future – We invested a lot of time discussing succession planning and leadership development.
  • Awards – We had the opportunity to review some incredible awards applications and select winners (to be announced soon!).

Our Enterprise Leadership Meeting (3 boards and Staff leaders) focused on 5 categories:

  • Leadership/Professional Development – We had the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and each other through an amazing external facilitator utilizing the data from the Clifton Strengths assessment.
  • Enterprise Partnership – We discussed the importance and plans to use our collective focus to further our priorities.
  • Enterprise Leadership Biennial Development Plan – Our Membership Connection and Board Development Committee launched our new curriculum materials focused on the Ends.
  • Teambuilding – We had a couple of opportunities built into our day to get to know each other better and even shared our Favorite Things through a gift exchange.
  • Leading the Future – We continued our discussion on succession planning, development, and some future enterprise-wide initiatives.

As you can see, it is certainly a great opportunity for us to connect and have fun, but we also have a lot of serious and sometimes hard discussions to ensure that we are making informed decisions that help advance our fraternity.
