Hope Endures

I recently read a book titled Theo of Golden by Alan Levi. The theme of hope resonates in the storyline, encouraging hope in relationships and value for every person. The main character, Theo, completes small deeds that bring great value to each person that he encounters. I enjoyed this book and found its message of hope poignant in my life, particularly in regards to all that I believe and all that I do for AOII.

Hope can help us as we look at the lazy days leading to the end of summer. Maybe you have soaked up the sun by a pool, lake, or ocean. Perhaps you have been recharged by time with friends and family or a new experience like an internship. I hope you’ve taken time to review your accomplishments and look forward to what lies ahead. Hope is for the future. Goals are planned, and activities formulated from all that you’ve learned.

Collegians, recruitment is around the corner. It is exciting to see your sisters as you return to campus! Work Week means practice, practice, and more practice! There’s serious work to be done. You are choosing the future members of Alpha Omicron Pi. Are you ready? Is your attitude as positive as can be? Is your smile bright and inviting, portraying hope? So much to do, but you have sisters to make work lighter and hope to give you strength! Smile, jump in, see what you can achieve. See what you can contribute and you will see what AOII can achieve. If your chapter is not doing fall recruitment, there is much to do in continuous recruitment and planning for Spring recruitment, putting AOII out there, shining a light on AOII! Calendars are planned, goals, set, and the common denominators are hope and your sisters! They are standing with you! They are there to share the work, encourage hope, share the love and the success! A winning combination, because there is power in hope and in sisterhood!

Alumnae are you planning? Are you mapping out your calendar for the year? Are you programming, so that sisters will know what to put on their schedules? Don’t forget to include Ritual. It is not just a point for awards; it is our base and our heart.

So, as we enjoy the last days of summer, we look to the future, in hope as a new beginning! We are gifted with new beginnings each day as humans, and every year as a chapter. So, with all these new beginnings, we can safely rely on hope for the future knowing that it takes all our efforts to create the reality, because hope endures all things!
