Volunteer Summit 2026 Recap: Sisterhood, Impact, and Getting Recruit Ready!
Over the weekend of June 19-21, 2026, Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity welcomed over 150 Recruitment Advisors, Network Specialists of Membership Growth, professional staff members, and select volunteer facilitators at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee, for our biannual Volunteer Summit.
This year’s conference targeted the key collegiate chapter volunteers mentioned above to equip them with the information, resources, and connections they need to thrive in their roles as they prepare for what is sure to be a busy recruitment season. Attendees enjoyed a day and a half packed with educational sessions, keynote presentations, and sisterhood-centered meals for our attendees who made the most of this time together by networking, sharing ideas, and building lasting connections with one another.
Friday kicked off the weekend with a reception and opening session led by AOII’s Executive Director, Kaya Miller, and Assistant Executive Director, Jackie Petrucci. The leadership duo discussed the importance of the AOII Way, strategic best practices for successful recruitments, and how AOII’s chapters can stay competitive across college campuses.
Volunteers were then broken into three groups by chapter size and sent off to their respective sessions to dive deeper into how to facilitate a successful recruitment.
Sisters made meaningful connections throughout the weekend over shared meals, cocktail hours, educational training, networking opportunities, and at the elective tours of AOII’s headquarters in Brentwood.
We are especially thankful to the AOII Foundation and donors who made it possible for attendees to enjoy not only one, but two, keynote presentations at Volunteer Summit 2026. Heather Dixon Adams, Lambda Sigma (U of Georgia), is a 25-year-plus publicity and communications veteran, founder and CEO, podcast host, and devoted volunteer not only to AOII as an advisor, but also to National Angels and the University of Georgia Journalism School Alumni Board. She ignited the room with her passion for recruitng adn energized everyone in attendance for a successful upcoming recruitment season. She is wife to Matt and mom to teenage boys, Dixon and Thackston, who keep her thrilled and busy cheering from the sidelines of a baseball field or basketball court.
Danielle Bayard Jackson — wife, mom, relational health educator, entrepreneur, speaker, author, and podcast host — closed Saturday’s activities with a powerful keynote on evidence-based strategies women can use to approach conflict as a chance to build trust and strengthen communication in their platonic female friendships.
Carole Jurenko Jones Award
We were thrilled to honor Jenna Gregory Lutz, Xi (U of Oklahoma), with this year’s Carole Jurenko Jones Award at Volunteer Summit. This annual award honors a sorority alumna who has made a lasting impression and significant contribution to the Fraternity and/or interfraternal movement. An alumna member of any sorority organization is eligible, and any AOII member may submit this nomination.
Jenna is an initiate of Xi Chapter at the University of Oklahoma and the Chief Panhellenic Officer and Chair of the Panhellenic Committee for Alpha Omicron Pi. She has served the Fraternity as a staff member, on AAC’s as a Corporation Relations Advisor, Ritual Advisor and Panhellenic Advisor, on network teams as a Network Specialist – Development, and the National Panhellenic Conference as an Area Advisor and Recruitment Release Figure Specialist. Jenna is a former Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor and previously worked at Plaid, LLC, and Holmes Murphy. She is currently the Vice President of Business Development at Phired Up, leading industry provider of cutting-edge tools, strategic consulting, and experiential training tailored to the unique needs of fraternities and sororities.
Jenna lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with her husband Kevin, a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, and their two sons, Cooper and Quinn.
